Supporting your plans to maintain continuity of education is of paramount importance for us here at Blackboard. We understand that institutions continue to make contingency preparations to support your students, faculty, and support staff in response to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak. With the evolving situation in mind, we’ve integrated Microsoft Teams Meetings in Blackboard Learn (both Original and Ultra Experiences) to enable seamless collaboration in one convenient location. Through this integration, users will be able to launch Microsoft Teams Meetings directly within any Learn course.

Working Together

We are in close communication with our partners on how we can work together to best serve our mutual clients during this unprecedented situation. Through these discussions, we’ve enabled institutions with Microsoft Office 365 to create, schedule, and launch Microsoft Teams conference calls within Blackboard Learn. We are proud to be able to bring this integration to our clients.

This integration was developed in tight collaboration between the engineering and product management teams at Microsoft and Blackboard. Given the severity of the need, delivering a standard-compliant LTI integration in a matter of days—from initial discussion to product delivery—is confirmation of this great partnership in action.

By working together with Microsoft on an integration based on LTI Advantage, this integration supports the broader IMS and standards community.
