In less than a month we will host in Dubai the Teaching and Learning Conference (TLC) for Russia, the Middle East and Africa (RMEA), which will take place 11-13 March. I am thrilled about this event as it will be the first time we host the conference in the Middle East and I am looking forward to meeting hundreds of educators from across the region.
For those who are not familiar with the TLC, the conference was firstly organised 10 years ago in the U.K. and has been steadily growing ever since, with enthusiastic clients joining every single time as they see the TLC as a true forum where they can discuss opportunities, share best practice, network with peers and find out more about the latest in education technology. Since the overall TLC concept has proved so engaging and successful also among our clients from RMEA, we thought it was the right moment to bring the TLC to the Middle East and give even more institutions and educational leaders the opportunity to attend and discuss over topics from angles that take into account the regional specificities and nuances.
I have been based in UAE for the major part of my career and I know that some issues we face are typical of our region, and the same happens for Africa and Eastern Europe. During the last couple of years, I travelled extensively across the region to meet our local people and our clients. It has been a really enriching experience, both personally and professionally as I had the chance to learn from them about the specific challenges they are facing and how Blackboard is helping them meet the needs of their students including preparing them to enter the workforce and enabling them to compete on a global scale.
From South Africa to the UAE, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Azerbaijan and Turkey, our clients have been involved in plenty of interesting projects, and by organising the TLC RMEA we are providing them with an ideal environment to share their success. Indeed, the three-day event will be a unique opportunity for you to see education technology in action, with presentations, hands-on sessions, and workshops with experts who will answer your questions.
You will also hear from Blackboard leaders not only about what’s next in our roadmap but also about our commitment to the RMEA Region and the continued investments we are making to support you, our clients, to deliver a superior online experience to your teachers and students.
TLC has earned a unique reputation amongst the educators of the world. We’re proud to bringing you a meeting point to discuss, debate and improve education.
If you want to share with your peers an interesting project you have done at your institution about blended learning, academic adoption, online assessment and feedback or data and analytics, click here to submit your proposal. The Call for Presentation is open until the 18thof February.
