Last week was a whirlwind of fun activities, engaging sessions, and keynotes full of big announcements. So, we thought we’d refresh your memory with highlights – and if you weren’t there, hopefully this will make you feel like you were a part of BbWorld 2012!

The Mobile Movement:

Announcements surrounding Blackboard mobile products swept the Exhibit Hall floor. Already heavily used in the UK, ConnectTxt, a two-way SMS text service has invaded the US. Blackboard Collaborate shared their Mobile initiatives with the goal of encouraging students learning anywhere at anytime. Last but not least – Blackboard Mobile announced an option for end-user pricing.

Content, Content – Everywhere!

Blackboard Digital Content was proud to show off their status as the first and only LMS to integrate with Higher Ed’s four major publishers: McGraw Hill, Wiley, Cengage, and Pearson.

Michael Chasen’s opening keynote, he talked about Blackboard’s new Project xp (xp standing for cross-platform). The first initiative he mentioned was xpLor, an open Learning Object Repository. In response to Michael’s announcement, the crowd flooded twitter with happy tweets!

Best. Keynotes. Ever.

Keynotes for BbWorld’s 5 major themes, DevCon Open Education Keynote Panel, Dr. Freeman Hrawbowski, Sal Khan of Khan Academy – oh my! We can’t quite focus on one of them because they were ALL amazing! Even the Blackboard Keynotes by Michael Chasen, Ray Henderson, Katie Blot, and Kayvon Beykour drummed up excitement about Blackboard’s future!
