Congratulations Fix Your Content Day 2022 Winners

On May 19th, we joined forces with the global Blackboard Ally community to celebrate the 11th annual Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), focused on encouraging thinking, learning, and discussions around digital accessibility and inclusion. Worldwide, an estimated one billion people experience some sort of physical, visual, hearing, or cognitive disability. Participating in GAAD is one way to raise awareness and help ensure that all learners can benefit from a more inclusive environment. Accessible course content also improves the overall educational experience for all learners.
To support the mission and spirit of the day, Anthology hosted the third annual Fix Your Content Day (FYCD), a 24-hour global competition that helps to create more accessible and inclusive digital learning content. “Many institutions recognize the need and benefits of creating more inclusive learning environments, but many remain uncertain where to start in proactively addressing accessibility barriers,” said Rosario Bruzón, Product Marketing Manager at Anthology. “Blackboard Ally is here to help and the Fix Your Content Day competition was a tremendous opportunity for many institutions to start their journey along this path!”
This year, 182 colleges and universities spanning 13 countries, and 34 U.S. states participated in the challenge. Collectively, these participants made over 110,000 fixes during the competition, a new record.

Following the Path to Accessibility and Inclusion
Accessibility and inclusion are a journey and not a destination. We want to congratulate all FYCD winners for their commitment toward ensuring accessibility is top of mind by constantly evolving their learning environments to meet the unique needs of all learners and helping them reach their full academic potential,” said Steven Ostler, Senior Product Marketing Director at Anthology.
We invite you to keep moving toward creating equitable and accessible learning experiences for all your learners. Let us help you on this path!
