On the Road: the title of Jack Kerouac’s well-known book has become the theme of Blackboard K-12 during these early months of 2008.  Team members are traveling across the country for several industry events, including FETC, TCEA and eTech Ohio (just to name a few).

At all of the events we’ve attended, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed talking with Blackboard users and educators interested in learning more about online learning.

Last week in Orlando, our team spoke with thousands of education technology leaders and teachers on the floor at FETC.  It was the first event we attended with Wimba, our trusted partner for providing enhanced online collaboration solutions to Blackboard K-12 clients.  Our partnership was well received and even got some attention on Teachertechblog.com.

(A reminder to our current K-12 clients: don’t forget to download Wimba Express now!)

In our booth at FETC, we talked with several attendees developing K-20 connections to facilitate student success.  Current Blackboard K-12 clients were excited about Blackboard’s newest release (Release 8.0) and about our commitment to the K-12 community—which we’ve tried to demonstrate by offering innovative features in our products and forming new partnerships during the past six months.  We assured everyone there is much more to come!

Next we head to Austin, Texas to take in some great music and, more importantly, attend the upcoming TCEA event from February 6-9.  Come visit us at booth #1424!

See you soon at an event near you!
