Dr. Michael K. Moore
Dr. Michael K. Moore, Chief Academic and Operating Officer of the University of Arkansas System (UAS) eVersity will deliver remarks on July 22, 2020 at 9:15 am ET. Dr. Moore, whose driving passion is broadening access to high-quality, affordable, and workforce-relevant educational opportunities, is a well-known innovator in online learning. He will share his perspective on the need for innovative solutions to better serve the student of the future. He will also moderate a panel of students as they share their unique perspectives on their challenges to success in this new educational landscape.
Dr. Moore designed and launched UAS’s eVersity, a 100 percent-online institution that works to remove barriers to success from application to graduation. Dr. Moore also serves as Vice President for Academic Affairs for UAS. He is an accomplished higher education leader who has been published in countless peer-reviewed journals spanning 30 years.
Manny Scott, author, scholar, and original Freedom Writer will deliver a keynote on July 22, 2020 at 12:30 pm ET. Manny was one of the original Freedom Writers, a group of at-risk students who journaled about their lives under the guidance of English teacher Erin Gruwell. Manny’s story—and the story of the Freedom Writers—is told in part in the MTV movie, Freedom Writers.
Manny has empowered nearly two million people to improve the quality of their own lives and the lives of those around them through Ink International, Inc, the education consulting firm he founded in 2007.
Through his inspiring personal story of how teachers and individuals dramatically changed the trajectory of his life, Manny will explore how one person—even on their worst day—can give students hope and empower them to transform their futures.
