BbWorld is a time of year I always enjoy. This annual conference includes three days of informative sessions and non-stop networking for K-12 professionals. Without fail, I leave BbWorld each year absolutely inspired by our clients. Here are a few reasons why I think you should attend this year’s conference, happening July 25-27 in New Orleans:

1. FREE pre-conference Flipped Learning 3.0 workshop

Kick off the conference the morning of Tuesday, July 25, with a free workshop provided by Jon Bergmann, one of the pioneers of the Flipped Classroom Movement. He is leading the worldwide adoption of flipped learning through the Flipped Learning Global Initiative (FLGI). Learn more at flglobal.org.

2. Ability to earn 3 CEUs (Continuing Education Units)

Need to renew your teaching license? Attend both the pre-conference workshop and BbWorld 2017 to earn 3 CEUs. After three days of non-stop learning, easily apply for your continuing education units through Virginia Commonwealth University.

3. Client appreciation events

Laissez les bon temps rouler (That’s French for, “Let the good times roll”). Meet and mingle with your K-12 colleagues Tuesday night at the K-12 party to kick off the week. Brush elbows with the creator of the Flipped Classroom Global Initiative, an iNACOL Teacher of the Year, K-12 innovators from around the country, Blackboard K-12 leadership, and many more.

4. More K-12 networking & connections

After the K-12 party, network with these innovators throughout the conference. You’ll make lasting connections you can nurture long after your time in NOLA. Personally, learning from passionate, innovative K-12 educators is my favorite part of BbWorld each year.

5. Access to edtech experts

Attend informative product roadmap sessions tailored specifically to K-12 about your favorite products. Speak to Blackboard product experts directly, ask your most pressing questions, and voice your needs. And, don’t miss the K-12 state of the market address nor the K-12 listening session.

6. Client-led sessions

Hear from your peers and take home ideas for innovation in your district. Sessions will cover a range of topics, from accessibility, equity, and mindfulness in the classroom, to applying the Quality Matters principles to class design.

7. World-class keynote, K-12 keynote & book signings

Lifelong educator and former Second Lady, Dr. Jill Biden will kick off BbWorld 2017 on the main stage. Pick up a signed copy of Jon Bergmann’s new book,  “Solving the Homework Problem by Flipping the Learning,” and speak with the author yourself. Learn what’s new with Flipped Learning 3.0 across the world directly from the source. And learn how you can expand your opportunities by becoming certified in flipped learning.

8. Strategies you can use right away

Participate in hands-on workshops during the conference and build new skills. Take those skills back to your classroom, share them with your colleagues, and inspire your students.

9. Opportunities to collaborate with educators from around the world

BbWorld is where great minds in education come together to exchange ideas, share best practices, and address today’s toughest educational challenges. Last year, 34 countries were represented by over 2,000 attendees across 900 institutions.

10. An unforgettable client appreciation party

Wind down from a fantastic week at our annual client appreciation party. This year, we’ll be at the famous House of Blues—you won’t want to miss it. Soak in the spirit of New Orleans with great food and music to cap off your week.
