For my first entry posted to Blackboard Blogs, I’ll be brief and simply introduce myself. My name is Stephanie Cupp. I’ve worked in Product Development for Blackboard for almost five years. I’ve loved it the entire time, but right now is by far the most exciting time.
If you know Jess Finnefrock (our SVP of Product Development), you’ve probably heard her say she has the best job at Blackboard. She and I argue about which of us actually does, and I think I win, because my lucky role at Blackboard is to help guide the user experience of our products.
Our User Experience team consists of product designers, user interface designers and a user experience architect. We consider functionality, usability, accessibility, desirability and more. We work with product managers and strategists, members of Client Support, Performance and Engineering, the Beyond team, the Client Success team, and more . . . but best of all, we get to work with users. We are the user advocates!
During the coming months I’ll be blogging here about Project NG, specifically about some of the things the User Experience team has learned, what we’ve experienced and questions we’ve encountered from the Blackboard community while we’ve been working on Project NG, including our approach in NG to user experience, feature parity and more.
