Community colleges are a vital engine driving educational opportunity for millions of post-secondary students in the U.S. More than half of all U.S. undergraduates enroll in community colleges as gateways to 4-year degrees and workforce opportunities. But less than half of these students successfully complete their credentials. Achieving the Dream (ATD) leads comprehensive community college reforms to improve student success. This network of over 200 institutions, 100 coaches and advisors, and 15 state policy teams is helping over 4 million students achieve their educational and career dreams.

Blackboard is proud to announce a powerful new partnership with ATD aimed at addressing the most pressing challenges facing education, including workforce preparedness and improving completion rates. Through this partnership, we will engage with ATD college team members, including presidents, academic deans, directors of student success, and other thought leaders, to advance the student success agenda and promote effective solutions.

Our research on student success provides grounding on effective practices to improve student retention and graduation rates. ATD has long been a leader in critical focus areas such as data-informed decision-making, sustainable institutional change, and student-centered supports. Together our collaborations will address tough issues such as the changing needs of today’s workforce, the unique characteristics of learners in community colleges, and alternative models of education to support them.
