With the progress of learning technologies, it is important to empower students with the best tools available and provide an inclusive educational experience to all those who prefer to use a language other than English. This is why we are pleased to announce that Blackboard Collaborate and Bb Student are now available in te reo Māori.

Te Reo Māori is one of the official languages and with this version of new Blackboard Collaborate and Bb Student we are helping even more students be successful in their day-to-day education and reach their academic goals.

Announced in past few months Bb Student is the next generation mobile solution that enables students to stay up-to-date on their academic progress and requirements. It is our first persona-based app and integrates Blackboard Learn and Blackboard Collaborate through a new user interface to deliver a full and delightful educational experience.

Available for iOS, Android and Windows devices, Bb Student is specifically designed around the learner’s needs and offers students an intuitive way to access updates from their activity stream and interact with courses and content. It enables students to connect with instructors and peers, allowing access to grades, assignments and tests in just few moves.

The new Collaborate, which will also be available in te reo Māori from the beginning of March is based on the WebRTC technology and features an entirely new design that increases simplicity and convenience, enabling faster launching and simpler deployments. Thanks to its rich audio and high quality video features, the new Collaborate allows a compelling, personal experience, helping increase engagement for teachers, students and corporate users.

We are really happy to offer this version to all Māori-speaking students and customers, at it further testifies to our commitment to work closely with local institutions and learning communities in order to provide services and solutions tailored to their specific needs.
