The smell of fall is in the air, which means we’re gearing up for the 97th Annual ICMA Conference. Every year, ICMA hosts the grand event, bringing local government leaders and officials together from across the country to share experiences and discover new resources for managing communities. Held in Milwaukee, WI, a hub for freshwater research and technology, the theme this year is “Fresh Water, Fresh Ideas,” as the conference will provide educational sessions for attendees with the focus on ‘fresh ideas.’

In addition to all the available education sessions and events, the Blackboard Connect team will be on hand at the conference as we are sponsoring a solution track presentation, Communicating More Effectively with Your Community. Monica Worrell, Public Information Officer for the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, will lead the discussion on Monday, September 19 at 11:30 a.m. in the Solutions Theater B.

The Blackboard Connect team will also be manning a booth in the exhibition hall, looking to meet with clients and local government officials alike. Throughout the conference, we’ll be doing live demonstrations of the new Blackboard Connect 5. We’ll also be raffling off an iPad 2, so come by Booth #717 and enter for your chance to win!

But before you head out to see the Bronze Fonz, log on to the IMCA notification portal, powered by Blackboard Connect, and register your contact information to receive phone calls, emails or text messages from ICMA with the latest updates and information on all the event happenings.
