Last month I wrote about the six pillars of innovation at Blackboard. These are the pillars we use to guide the transformation of our company and product portfolio. I dove deep on the why — why the learner has to be at the center of everything we design, why life-long learning is critical, why a delightful experience is our key focus.

Innovation must be focused on solving a problem for someone. At Blackboard, our innovation is focused on making the learner successful. So we spend our time focusing on learners. Sure, we look at how they use technology, but, moreover, we spend time understanding how they learn, and what gets in their way of learning more effectively, so we can innovate to help them succeed.

Today, I’m proud to share with you what these pillars look like through a real-life lens. It’s called the New Learning Experience. We’ve been working on this for the past two years, Jay Bhatt introduced this concept at BbWorld 2015, and we’ve made it the center of every single thing we do here at Blackboard. The New Learning Experience is our approach to education that fosters better engagement, interaction, and quality learning—all with the goal of creating the best possible educational experience for learners around the world.

Our product portfolio is diverse, strong, and unmatched in the market. We promised you that we’d integrate our platforms and products, and I couldn’t be more proud of the team delivering today.
