We’ve just released an update to Collaborate, our rich video and audio solution for learning. This release offers some powerful new capabilities, as well as some great enhancements to our existing products.

MP4 recordings of sessions. Users who want to record their collaborate sessions in the Ultra Experience can now easily save both audio and video as an .mp4. Learners who missed a session can replay the course, seeing files that were shared and replaying the inline whiteboard annotations and comments.

Collaborate

LTI Ultra View. For those of you using an LTI compliant LMS, you’ll be able to directly launch into Collaborate with the Ultra Experience via LTI. This means schools with both Collaborate and Canvas, Desire2Learn, Sakai, or other learning management systems will get to leverage the great new Collaborate experience in-line with their course.

We’ve also added the ability to zoom in and out of file sharing, created a simple way to schedule recurring sessions to match a course schedule, provided explicit volume controls, added extended keyboard controls, and updated a number of usability issues.

Carl Marrelli, Senior Product Manager for Collaborate, explained that “Students around the world engage with beautifully designed, high definition web and media experiences online, everyday. This update to Collaborate empowers teachers to inspire learning in a beautiful, high quality, always available online experience aligned with the learner’s native, digital lifestyle.”

We hope you’ll love the new enhancements to Blackboard Collaborate!
