The series began with “Building a Better Experience” in which we discussed the state of mobile technology in education and how universities around the world are leveraging mobile to connect with their communities. We reviewed how a mobile strategy can help keep alumni connected to institutions and even how you can show off an institution to prospective students and their parents.
The second session in the series focused on “Realizing Your Strategy” and was delivered by Blackboard Mobile Central and Mobile Learn client, Jake Gannon from the University of Liverpool. Jake is part of the team that have created and implemented the University of Liverpool’s mobile strategy. During the session Jake shared how they are delivering a cutting-edge mobile experience, one that is extendable and customizable to the needs of students, faculty and staff. Jake also discussed their “mobile timeline,” goals for mobile, achievements so far and some of the unexpected benefits of going mobile.
The third and final session was aimed at “Getting The Most From Mobile.” This session took a deep-dive into mobile functionality and explored how institutions can use the Blackboard Mobile SDK (Software Development Kit) to build and integrate their own modules into their Mobile Central app. We looked at how you can do more with your app, including modifying existing modules, and changing the look and feel of your app.All of the sessions were recorded and are available to access for free here >>.
