Hello BbWorld attendees – I have some exciting news for you
about a brand new initiative that I think you’re really going to enjoy.
This year at BbWorld, we want your help giving back to the
DC Community. On Monday, July 13, please join me, fellow conference go-ers and Blackboard staff for the
inaugural BbWorld volunteer event. In partnership with Greater DC Cares, a Washington DC-based
nonprofit organization, we will assemble science
toolkits that will be donated to DC public schools, helping teachers educate
K-12 students about the environment and sustainability practices.
In the Blackboard K-12 group, we’ve noticed a growing trend: teachers are using Blackboard solutions as an instructional tool to positively impact curriculum planning and student engagement in and out of the classroom. As we plan for BbWorld ’09, we want to support our client institutions to continue on the path of providing 21st century learning experiences that are both personalized and connected.
Did you know that Blackboard created its own “there’s an app for that” concept for our learning platform almost a decade ago? Now, not only do we have hundreds of plug-ins for Blackboard Learn, we have a conference that can help you learn how to build them better! Come see what we mean at the 2009 Blackboard Developers Conference.
From Jared Hart, Client Success
I want to share with you something that I think will be of great benefit. At Blackboard, we know this can be a challenging time of year, to say the least—maintenance, testing, upgrades, etc.—and naturally this can be very stressful. Well, we’ve created a wiki site for you that hopefully will make whatever activities you’re endeavoring upon as seamless as possible.
Those of you who have bookmarked the BbWorld web site probably noticed that we’ve announced this year’s program featuring more than 100 client-led presentations! We are really excited to see so many clients eager to participate and speak on such great topics!
One of the questions I am frequently asked is, “How do you select sessions for BbWorld?” The answer is that I don’t – you do. Find out how after the jump….
