Word has gotten out that the Blackboard learning platform is open, and more clients than ever are expanding the capabilities of our platform. In fact, more than 2,500 people to-date have gotten involved in the process of developing customized tools and streamlined integrations to make their institution’s virtual learning experience even better. DevCon will help Blackboard clients identify unique ways to meet the pedagogical needs of their faculty by customizing and extending the Blackboard application.
Last year, almost 300 developers convened for two days of sessions designed to help them more effectively and efficiently develop extensions for Blackboard Learn. M.S. Vijay Kumar, Ed.D will deliver the Developer’s Conference keynote. As the Senior Associate Dean and Director of EUD Office of Educational Innovations and Technology at MIT, Dr. Kumar recently edited Opening Up Education: The Collective Advancement of Education through Open Technology, Open Content, and Open Knowledge. Kumar will also make an appearance at Open Source Day 4.0 following the Developers Conference. Learn how to collaborate with other schools to build open source learning tools and integrate them with Blackboard Learn. OSD 4.0 is hosted by OSCELOT (the Open Source Community for Educational Learning Objects and Tools), a non-profit organization that supports efforts to address challenges faced by the e-learning community.
