The Blackboard Connect team had quite the week last week. ‘Eventful ‘doesn’t even begin to describe it…

We started in San Antonio at this year’s NSPRA National Seminar, where we officially announced Blackboard Connect 5, the next generation in mass notification service. The annual conference, hosted by the National School Public Relations Association, brings together K-12 administrators and communications professionals to attend workshops and share best practices for effective communication within schools and districts. Between the conference sessions, covering topics such as social media, crisis communication and parental involvement, we had the chance to talk with school leaders about the challenges they face when communicating within their district and to show them how Blackboard Connect 5 can help.

Just as NSPRA was wrapping up, we were off to Las Vegas to join in the continuous celebration of all things Blackboard at BbWorld 2011. We had the pleasure of speaking with even more educators and administrators about all the new features and functionalities of Blackboard Connect 5. There were several packed  sessions led by Blackboard Connect clients demonstrating how they are getting the most from their system in their district, on their campus and in their community.

We’ve already gotten some great press coverage from our recent announcement, including stories in eSchoolNews (New Blackboard notifications: Customizable, quick and mobile), District Administration (Blackboard: Big Company, Big News) and Campus Technology (Blackboard’s Latest Notification Service Release).  We also received some good reviews on Twitter, and launched the new Blackboard Connect website.

Over the course of the next week, we’ll be sharing more videos and photos on the Bb Connect Facebook page documenting the launch of Blackboard Connect 5 and all the subsequent celebrations.
