Hey, folks! KJ here, just returned from BbWorld Commerce in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.
While I enjoyed my time in Phoenix with our Blackboard Commerce Suite clients, I’m also happy to report that things are moving fast with BbWorld ’08 and the Blackboard Developers Conference. First of all, registration is now open! You can go to www.bbworld08.com and find all the information you need to register for both events.
Additionally, our Call for Presentations ended on Friday, and I’m so excited to report that we received an overwhelming response from clients eager to share their ideas, success and best practices with the Blackboard community.
303 presentation proposals for BbWorld ’08 were submitted by over 275 institutions and schools in 14 different countries! Isn’t that just the most fabulous thing ever?!
So, what happens next? When do you get to see the BbWorld program?
Here’s where that Client Program Committee comes into play. I’ll be working with over 50 client volunteers to help review sessions and choose the best ones for the BbWorld ’08 program. It won’t be an easy task. With so many high-quality submissions, it makes it difficult to choose which ones will make it to BbWorld.
In an even more unexpected and thrilling development (har, har. development, get it?), we received 25 submissions for the Blackboard Developers Conference! That’s three times as many submissions as we received for the 2007 DevCon. I can’t tell you how glad I am to see so many clients willing to share their innovations with the Developer Community. Whether you use Blackboard Building Blocks or Blackboard PowerLinks, the DevCon is the place to feel the developer love.
One more thing before I’m off. Do you Facebook? If you do, join our group for the BbWorld ’08 and DevCon conferences. You can find us in groups, under “BbWorld ’08 Conference.” Over 100 of us have already joined. It’s a great way to collaborate, network and get to know each other before the conference starts!
