BbWorld 2012, Blackboard’s education technology conference, is happening this summer in New Orleans! And we called upon you to be our VIP bloggers from the event! We received over 30 blog entries as part of this contest so, before I announce the winners, I would like to call attention to some of the incredible posts we received. Every single entry was creative in its own way.
Aside from blogging four separate times, Laura Orsetti from Frontier Nursing University, blogged while holding her 23-month old on her lap! JD Ferries-Rowe from Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, an Edline user, not only has a lot to say about BYOT (bring your own technology) but he’s excited for some olive sauce on his muffaletta (must be a NOLA thing). And, Kelt Dockins from University of Arkansas at Little Rock and a 2012 Golden Catalyst Award winner for Innovative Development definitely had the coolest blog layout that I’ve seen
Well enough stalling… It is my great pleasure to announce the following individuals as the BbWorld 2012 VIP Bloggers!
Josh Murdock (@professorjosh), Professor, Valencia College
Josh had us at hello, when Bb the Robot told us why Josh should be a BbWorld blogger. Josh is an instructional designer at Valencia College where he helps faculty navigate the world of Blackboard. Josh is an experienced blogger, well known across the K-12 and HigherEd community, and a long-time Blackboard user. He even has a BbWorld countdown on his blog! His perspective and creativity will be a welcome addition at this year’s BbWorld.
Melissa Stange (@certtechpro), System Admin, Shenandoah University
Melissa took our contest to heart and blogged not once or twice but 15 times (and counting) as part of our blogger contest (she’s quite active on Twitter, too). Not only did she share with us why she wanted to come to BbWorld, but she shared personal experiences with Blackboard from her day to day role at SU. While Melissa admitted that she’s new to the blogging community with big shoes to fill, we’re impressed with her strong start and hope she’ll continue to share her ideas and experiences up to and through BbWorld!
Lacie Crone (@AppogiaturaLife), Instructional Technology Coordinator, Ivy Tech Community College
Lacie is a very active member of the Ivy Tech Community College community and has been using Blackboard since 2006. Her blog offers a very personal perspective on how situations in her career and life have put her in the place she is today. As a self-proclaimed “up and come-r,” we’re excited to have Lacie share more of her personal perspectives from her work at Ivy Tech and BbWorld with our community.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be featuring Josh, Melissa and Lacie on our blog so you can get to know them better and hear about why they’re excited for BbWorld 2012!
I would like to again, congratulate everyone who participated in this contest. And it’s not over yet… If you are registered for BbWorld and you’ll be blogging, please sign up as an “Official BbWorld Blogger.”
